Autism Rights Watch – Help Stop Abuse of Autistics in France Now!

This support statement was sent on Feb 8, 2012 by Prof Anita Thapar, Clinical Professor of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Cardiff
All interventions have the potential to harm as well as benefit. It is for this reason that they need to be evaluated, shown to be effective and grounded in evidence.  There is growing research evidence on autism, its origins and interventions. Psychoanalysis has not been shown to be effective in treating autism and nor is it based on current knowledge about how autism arises and persists.
